SOCIALS

We are kindly sponsored by the Whey Pat Tavern public house and so this is where we hold our socials. These are weekly at:

Socials are the best way to meet other club members and we encourage all to come along. We also hold social events like meals, film showings, photo competitions and cinema trips, last year to see Touching the Void, our social secretary, Olivia, will coordinate these events.

Most clubs have a Ball or Dance and in conjunction with canoeing, cycling and other eXtreme sports clubs, we hold the Adrenaline Ball in the first semester. This takes the form of a dinner, ceilidh and disco at the Golf Hotel and is a great night. Again, we encourage all our members to attend..

At the end of the second semester, before the revision and exam period commences, we hold our annual Dinner Meet. This involves camping and a weekend of walking with a Black Tie evening meal in a restaurant or hotel. The final event of the year is our Beach BBQ at The Maiden sea stack (ten minutes walk from the leisure centre), it is a tradition for the committee to change hands (old for new) on the summit, and this is done each year.
