Wednesday 1-2 – Trip sign up and lunch at the Whey Pat Sign up this weekend for a day trip on Sunday 4th March. We are doing this as a learning to navigate trip, so whether you have never held a compass or you just want to brush up on some skills then come along! Location is undecided yet, it will be weather dependent. Cost is £10.
Wednesday 2:00 – Climbing at AV in Dundee, leaving at 2pm from whey pat.
Thursday 1:00-2:30 – Climbing in sports center 7:30- PANCAKE SOCIAL! come to toms house ( 31 Greenside Court) with toppings! be creative, i think pancakes topped with toaster cooked bacon was the highlight of last year, needs to be beaten! We will provide all manner of pancake batters for you special folk (gluten free, dairy free…) who says we aren’t an inclusive club?
Joining the club - Please come to the Whey Pat on Wednesday or to either of the wall sessions to sign up, £20 for the semester
Photo/story comp – We are trying to gather photos/stories/poems etc to create a logbook and make the website look nice and shiny. To upload them to the site, give john (jh447) an email and he will set you up an account. There are lots of nice prizes up for grabs too! comp ends on the week before easter.
Monday 27th Feb (ie next monday) THERE WILL BE NO CLIMBING WALL SESSION. Korfball is using the hall. We are in the middle of organising a navigation evening based in St Andrews, using maps and compasses to find things hidden around town, orienteering style! More info coming soon! Lastly, if anyone has anything in particular that they would like learn more about (navigation, climbing techniques, learning to lead climb etc) or if there is somewhere in particular you would like to go on a trip, then please dont hesitate to ask a member of the committee or send an email to the club account. That way we can organise trips and climbing sessions to focus on those areas. We are here to help you improve and reach your mountaineering/climbing goals but its hard to know what everyone wants to do so we need you to tell us! Just to let you know, we will be doing some more outside climbing (sport and trad) once the weather improves, with specific teaching trips aimed at complete beginners.
See you around!
Eve
